The
general pathway of starch biosynthesis beginning with sucrose as the product
of photosynthesis. Activities are as follows. 1,
sucrose synthase; 2, UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase;
3, glycolytic enzymes including phosphoglucomutase;
4, ADPGlc pyrophosphorylase; 5,
hexose phosphate transporters; 6,
ADPGlc transporters.
