(A) or Arabidopsis leaves (B,C) were analyzed. Proteins in panels A and
B were first fractionated by anion exchange chromatography; “c”
indicates total crude extract. Panel C shows three concentrations of crude
extract. Arrows in panels C denote representative starch metabolic activities,
with BE activity visualized as red-staining bands, DBE activity as blue-staining
bands, and starch degradative activity as pink or white bands.
