The genomic sequence analyzed spans nucleotides 3,952,001 - 3,957,300 on the forward strand of chromosome I.
Near-full length cDNA from this gene has been cloned (Zhang et al., 2005) and its sequence is available in GenBank (accession no. NM_101044). From this sequence all of the intron/exon junctions predicted from the genomic DNA have been directly confirmed. The 3' untranslated region noted in blue text is identified from EST and cDNA sequence. The available cDNA sequence, however, extends only to the ATG initiation codon, so the extent of the 5' untranslated region, and whether or not any introns are present in this region, are not yet known definitively.
